STYLESTAR: BABOOSHKA!!!

Babooshka is one of my favorite stores in Philly…I discovered it one day while shopping in Echo Chic, another fabulous Philadelphia boutique. Echo Chic carries a variety of the season’s hottest pieces, from Botkier to Chloe and everything in between. However, if you’re looking for unique one-of-a-kind pieces at bargain basement prices (ok, not so bargain basement, but compared to NYC boutiques of the same variety, these prices are a steal!) head upstairs to Babooskha and check out the selection of clutches, vintage clothing, accessories, boots and more!

Most of the offerings are vintage, such as these silk pieces below:

The black one-piece number was approximately $80.00, but don't worry about it, I've already copped it! I had to wait for it to come back from a magazine photo shoot, but that's a story for another day...

Other vintage finds include these clutches...the prices are very reasonable, the black purse on the right is $38.00! :

Many of the pieces, such as the bubble shorts below, are made by boutique owner and designer, Babooshka herself—Francesca Sloan, so you don’t have to worry about seeing everyone else in your outfit.

These bubble shorts, in various colors and patterns, were $46.00!

Babooshka’s Sansom Street digs will close in December, but never fear, the new address, as of February, will be in Olde City at 3rd and Market. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

MEN'S BUSINESS CASUAL DALLAS, TEXAS

My officemate just asked me for help in picking clothes for our firm's annual retreat. This is difficult because:

(i) my officemate is a guy and while I think I'm fairly clued into women's fashions, I've never really given much thought to men's clothes...though I do admire diddy, kanye and the entertainment industry's other fabulously appointed males, but I digress...

(ii) this year's retreat is in Dallas, Tx... nuff said! and

(iii) we were just told that the dress code is "business casual, jeans acceptable". WTF?

I thought about his query and answered him thus:

- Do not pair Khaki's with a light blue shirt, lest you be confused with a Blockbuster employee.

- Do not wear grey trousers with a navy blazer to avoid looking like a Spectra Guard.

He also wanted to know what would work best with brown pants...a light blue shirt, duh!

What am I 'gonna wear?!?!?!
